Volunteering with DWC
DWC offers a range of opportunities including volunteer placements and work shadowing during survey season (between April and September). We have regularly hosted students from Plymouth and Exeter Universities. Generally the volunteer placements last a minimum of one month to ensure that you settle in and can gain a wide range of field and office experience (no stacks of photocopying!) but we are happy to be flexible. Please however note that we have a high volume of requests and cannot guarantee a volunteer placement.
There may also be opportunities to shadow us on evening great crested newt surveys (mid-April to mid-June) and bat activity and emergence surveys (May to September).
If you are interested, please email your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org
DWC are offering an Introductory Phase 1 Habitat Survey training course aimed at people who are beginning a career in ecology. For more details please click here: Phase 1 Training
