Li-Li leads the team and has over 15 years of experience in consultancy, having previously worked as part of an Environmental Impact Assessment team in an engineering consultancy, with ongoing experience in a diverse array of project work including highways, infrastructure and residential development projects.

Carly Ireland MSc MCIEEM – Principal Ecologist

♦ Baseline surveys (Extended Phase 1 Habitat/Preliminary Ecological Appraisal)

Carly is a highly experienced ecologist, having over 18 years experience of working in ecological consultancy, and has worked for DWC since 2005. She is experienced in ecological project management, survey and mitigation for a wide range of development schemes, including carrying out Habitat Regulations Assessments and planning policy services.

Kitty Straghan BSc (Hons) MCIEEM – Principal Ecologist

♦ Botanical surveys including National Vegetation Classification (NVC)
♦ Bat surveys and mitigation. Natural England licensed surveyor
♦ Farming and conservation land management advice
♦ Protected species surveys including Bats, Dormice, Badgers, Otters, Water Vole and Reptiles

Kitty joined DWC in 2015 and is an experienced ecologist with extensive field experience including Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, botanical, NVC and protected species surveys and site supervision. She has previously worked on large projects including South Devon Link Road and has an excellent knowledge of wildlife and habitats in Devon having previously worked as a freelance ecologist for consultancies throughout South West England.

Holly Emmens BSc (Hons) – Consultant Ecologist

♦ Strategic advice on planning policy and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects

♦ Baseline surveys (Extended Phase 1 Habitat/Preliminary Ecological Appraisal)
♦ Delivery of bespoke training on breeding birds, nature reserves and invasive species

Holly joined DWC in 2020 and has a background as a Local Planning Authority ecologist, including conducting surveys and reports, SSSI works assents,  minerals and waste sites consents, strategic planning consultations, partnership and panel meetings and County Wildlife Site panel.
